Best way to extend Delta eCredit and keep from expiring?
How do I preserve my Delta e-credit? It expires at the end of this year (2023), but I have no plans to fly Delta soon.
Can I buy a new ticket for a trip about a year from now and then cancel it again before the flight?
Will Delta give me a new e-credit with a new expiration date?

It depends on when the ecredit was generated.
Ecredits generated during the pandemic (before 1/12/22) can be used during 2023 for flights that are to occur during 2024.
Ecredits created after 1/12/22 do not have the same grace attached to them.
There’s really no way to “work the system” to extend them.
If you book a flight with them and then later cancel that flight, after the ecredit expiration date, the ecredits are lost.
