    I would wait and keep what you have or just do a new application and get any sign-on bonus you can.

    My Freedom is my oldest Chase card. After 4 years with my CSP, I downgraded that to a CFU and then waited a few weeks and reapplied for a new CSP for a new sign on bonus.

    You’re only eligible for a Sapphire bonus every 48 months and that counts from when the bonus hit your account, not when you opened the account, so you have to time that appropriately.

    If you’d prefer to just product change and don’t want to open any new accounts, it really depends on your spending patterns.

    Personally, I’ve started to shift away from my CFU, because I have a Cap One Venture that earns me 2x on all purchases as opposed to 1.5x with the CFU.

    Yes, different points systems, but that works for my current use of points.

    I’ll shift back to the CFU if start working on an award booking that might require UR.
