Any Group Discounts For Buying 10+ Airline Tickets?
Will soon be buying 11 Economy tickets on United Airlines for a family group trip using either a Chase United Mileage Plus Visa card or an Amex Platinum.
Which is better for me in terms of earning the most points?
Buying through the Amex Portal to get 5x return points?
Or buying through United directly using the United Visa Card to get Mileage Reward Points for each of 11 individual Mileage Plus Accounts?

Since you are booking more than 9 people I would check directly with the airline.
That qualifies as a group rate.
Also if anything changes with the flight, it is much easier dealing directly with the airline and not the travel portal.
As to which credit card, I can’t help with that but probably the United card, since you are booking directly with the airline.

I would book directly with United and pay with the Amex Platinum.
You will get Membership Rewards on your card for all the tickets and United miles for each person in their account.

The United card might get you free baggage (if it is domestic flights).
Don’t book through the portal though, with AMEX you can get the 5x booking directly with the airline.
If the trip is next year, make United your airline for the $200 credit on Amex for next year.
