What’s Best Company For Cancun Airport Transfer?
Posted by Linnie on November 7, 2023 at 11:17 pmI am looking for safe recommendations for pre-booked transportation from Cancun Airport (CUN) to our hotel.
My husband and I are going on a quick trip to Cancun in 2 weeks, we will be at the JW Marriott Cancun for 3 nights using our free night certificates!
Also do we need to buy Visitax?
What are the other do’s and don’ts for Cancun?
Thanks to all you experts out there!!

I was in Cancun in October and no one even mentioned the visitax.
I saw a YouTube video about it before leaving but didn’t pay for it.

We have used HappyShuttle dozens of times in Cancun.
They are awesome!

We also used them last March and had a great experience.

If you are looking to do some excursions, I recommend Cancun Adventures.
They provided excellent service for the Chichen Itza visit.
The guide went out of her way to get my friend a little cake when we said it was his 30th b-day.
A totally well-appreciated surprise and she even recommended local shops and restaurants back in Playa and we had so much fun.
Worth every penny.
We also did an excursion to a Cenote and a lagoon to do some snorkeling with them and once again the guide was really funny and helpful.

I’ve always used Super Shuttle and they have been great and very inexpensive.

We recently used Canada Transfers.
They were great for transportation to/from our hotel.
No issues and very reliable.

I also just left Cancun and saw no signs or anything for the visit tax, I never paid.
I paid last year and no one even asked to see my QR code.
I am always happy to pay and give back to the local economy but if no one is going to follow up and most people won’t pay it since it won’t be enforced then…

Do a day trip to Isla Mujeres is a must!
Take the ferry over & rent a golf cart and drive around the entire island! So much fun!
-
Yes, I agree a day trip to Isla Mujeres is a must! As a tip, walk a few blocks south of the ferry to get cheaper golf carts than right at the ferry entrance.
I’ll also say that the airport is INTENSE after exiting with your bag.
Dozens of people will try and get your attention to “help” you with your transportation.
Don’t listen to anyone unless they have an airport ID badge, and just don’t engage the rest.

Book a trip to Chichen Itza, and if you’re adventurous book a trip to a Cenote.

We are here now in Playa Del Carmen and flew into CUN.
We used MeetPlaya for transport.
That was the cheapest we found for private transport.
Also, you don’t have to pay the visitax.
This is our third trip in 18 months and though there are signs everywhere no one has ever asked us to show we paid it.
We decided we would just wait to do it if someone asked for it.
