When do you plan to travel?

If you’re only traveling within the US until October, I’d suggest waiting because a new fee structure comes into play on Oct. 1, which eliminates Global Entry fees for minors whose parents have or are applying for Global Entry.

If you already have TSA PreCheck, your minor children can go through PreCheck with you without needing their own, so that should cover you for domestic flights.

Legally, a child should have their own Global Entry (GE) to use the GE lanes, but some have managed to slip through.

When we applied for our 2 year old, it was surprisingly easy.

Both my husband and I have GE.

Our 2-year-old got conditional approval in just 2 days; the wait for the appointment was the longest part.

I recommend signing up for notifications via Appointment Scanner.

We got him in for his “interview” pretty quickly, which was mainly them verifying our IDs.

Remember, both parents must be present for the interview.
