Can I Pay My Taxes With Chase INK For Sign Up Bonus?
Has Chase changed its policy on Chase Ink of allowing property tax charges to be counted toward a minimum spend requirement for a sign up bonus?
I’ve done this before and it was accepted towards a minimum spend requirement purchase to earn a sign up bonus.
Made a property tax charge with many other small charges and was credited 108,000 pending points then today I looked 99,000 had posted but 6,743 points were pending.
Then I looked later and all.
108,000 back to pending status.
$6743 is a property tax payment made through PayPal.
Looks like Chase might be declining property tax as an acceptable business charge.
Can be sensitive to the amount and how it crosses the minimum spend requirement threshold.
Not sure if my Chase Ink is being reviewed as no SUB points are showing posted.
It has been only a week since I completed the minimum spend requirement.
Chase just gives normal mumble jumbo wait 1-2 billing cycles but these SUB points have posted before in 2 days

Sign up bonuses always post when your statement ends.
And yes, property tax purchases are fine.
Chase, nor any bank, have a way to know, nor care, what are business expenses.
Most of us use personal charges all the time to meet sign up bonuses.

Like others have said, Chase doesn’t care if the expense is business or personal.
I paid property tax via PayPal bill pay using Chase Ink Unlimited earlier this year and it counted towards the spend requirement for sign up bonus.
Sign up bonus went pending almost immediately and posted when the statement closed.

I don’t remember ever having a Chase bonus become available before my statement posted.
Maybe it did, but I don’t remember that.
Amex does, but I feel like Chase always showed up as pending and set there until the statement date.

Just paid my LA County property tax with an Ink and it’s showing that I’ve met my sign up bonus.
