• How To Change Name On Chase Credit Card?

Posted by Agustina on December 2, 2023 at 2:11 pm

I use my middle name for everything, including bank accounts and cards.

But not for flights, of course, which means not for airline miles accounts.

I didn’t realize that names on card reward accounts must exactly match airline accounts.

Now that I want to transfer points, I need to fix this.

Capital One let me change the middle name on my Venture X over the phone and I can fax the request to change the actual account.

But the rep on Chase secure messaging told me the only option for me to change my middle name is a form that can *only* be mailed to me in 7-10 business days.

I asked about expediting the form but no luck.

I’m going to try calling and hope for a different answer.

Other than that, can anyone suggest any other way to change my name on Chase credit cards?

I added my legal name as an authorized user on my CSP and transferred points immediately.

I changed mine through secure messaging last year.

They sent me the form, I messaged it back to them.

    Was all fixed overnight.

Wouldn’t it be easier to update your name on your airline account to match your cards instead of your credit account?

Ours is slightly different as to whether they all have middle names or not but it seems to work ok.

One time Delta wouldn’t let my husband have precheck though because I left off his middle name on the booking.

We have Delta Digital id now though which helps.

Transferring didn’t seem to be an issue but I agree it’s confusing bc I don’t give my middle name on my credit cards.

I guess I’ll see if that becomes an issue in the future.

I use my middle initial in some accounts but not others.

    My transfers work anyway

Go into a local branch with your ID, preferably two forms, and ask them to change it.

That is what I had to do when I got married.

I called, went into the branch, and did secure message.

The only option with Chase is the form.

I received it very quickly though and my name was changed within 24 hours of submitting it through secure message.
