I actually rarely find that Costco Travel is cheaper than what I find via Autoslash and Costco definitely doesn’t have all rental car companies represented.

Most of the time way cheaper than direct and my Hertz status upgrades still work if I skip the counters and go straight to the President’s Circle area to pick a car and then swing by the booth to have them sign it out.

And I always check for a deal closer in, then cancel and rebook if I see a lower price.

Renting directly through Hertz or through an online travel agency is fine.
