I’ve claimed a points trip before with my CSP card.

As long as you paid the $5.60 with a card which offers coverage, you should be good

    Building on your question…

I’m thinking about getting an annual travel insurance policy, but I already have travel booked later this year.

Does the policy need to be in place before booking trips, or would they still be covered if I buy a policy now?

Depending on the length and reason for the flight delay or cancellation, it’ll decide if you’re eligible for compensation from the airline.

They should aim to get you on another flight.

Insurance policies vary; whether you bought one or used a credit card with coverage, they each come with different terms.

The insurance company will likely ask you to file a claim through the airline initially.

Yes, as long as your paid the award taxes with the card, it is covered.

You file the claim the same way you would for a revenue ticket.

I have done it before and had no issues that it was an award booking.
