Yes, they will re-check them right away.

I had a 13-hour layover at LHR on Virgin.

If it’s booked as one trip, the bags stay in the bag room.

Yes, you should be able to.

Worst case, you can use the airport baggage storage we found online.

It seems like there are multiple options there.

Pretty sure they’ll keep them for you as others have suggested on the thread.

If you want confirmation from BA without spending hours on the phone, try messaging them on Facebook.

It’ll take a couple of minutes to go past the chatbot, but once you get ‘connected’ to a human customer service rep, send a message Including your reservation number so they can look at the itinerary and confirm for you.

I typically get a response in 24-36 hours when I ask questions this way.

I had a 15-hour layover coming in on Turkish and out on United.

    They kept the luggage.

100% talk to BA when you check in and then reconfirm with a person at the Baggage Claim service counter before you leave the claim area.

They can look at the baggage routing in the system.

Turkish said I would have to pick it up but talked to the United service desk and they said no.

So I suggest you ask BA.

    I did this in March.

Yes, your luggage is checked through so no need to collect.

I had a change of clothes in my overnight bag.

Took the Heathrow Express straight to Piccadilly in about 30 minutes.
