• Recent Changes To IHG Diamond Member Breakfast Benefit?

Has anyone heard of recent changes in the IHG Diamond Member breakfast benefit?

Last I knew, as long as you don’t check in on the app, you get the option of welcome drinks, welcome points, or breakfast for 2 for your stay.

Checked into Crowne Plaza La Concha Key West yesterday.

I opted for breakfast, and it was just me traveling this time, but someone at the front desk got very worked up saying that it was only breakfast for one.

They also only gave me one voucher and said it was good for the whole week.

I’ve stayed here before and know that not to be true, the restaurant collects the vouchers each day (and they did yesterday), so this morning I asked for another voucher and another employee tried to explain to me that it’s breakfast for one person only.

When I asked where they heard that, they said they got a memo from their general manager about a month ago alerting them to the change.

I asked why the IHG website doesn’t reflect that change and they basically said to contact the general manager myself.

I know this property is (finally) switching over to Marriott in the next couple of months, so I’m not sure if this change is legit, or just something that got mixed into the hotel brand change at this particular location.

Also, I’m not as familiar with Marriott policy, is there a rewards level that only gives breakfast to one traveler?

    It’s max 2x.

I was in Budapest and the same thing happened to me.

They also tried to charge me another $10 euros for having a P2 with me.

I had IHG Diamond and stayed at Intercontinental San Francisco with 3 people and they gave us breakfast for two every day.

We had to pay for the 3rd person.

Post-COVID many of the hotels that are managed by a 3rd party have cut corners on every benefit imaginable, so the GM might just be saying stuff that is not actually official IHG policy.
