How Do I Put Avianca LifeMiles Awards On Hold?
Does anyone know how to put Avianca Lifemiles awards bookings on hold?
It seems there used to be a lock and hold feature at one point?!
But on the Avianca website, there doesn’t seem to be an option.
If we call is there a way to hold partner awards that are showing as available?
I know they are a mess, but the fees on Lifemiles per person are $12 and on Air Canada they are $90 some.
For six tickets, that’s a pretty significant price difference but same amount of miles.

I always chat with them via Whatsapp.
There was a chat bubble in the app during the booking process, it switched to Whatsapp, started as virtual then an agent came in.
They can hold reservations and send them via email.

The Avianca fee is not $12.
Avianca has a $25 partner booking fee – so if you’re seeing $12, it will be at least $37.
Unfortunately, Avianca sometimes does not show some taxes in the initial search results.
Ultimately, it will likely end up being almost the same as what Aeroplan is charging in taxes and fees.

Just transfer and book!
