How Does Southwest Same Day StandBy List Work?
Due to the weather, getting nervous about our Southwest last flight out tomorrow situation.
How does Southwest Standby list work?
On Stand By, are we more likely to get selected for an earlier flight if we get on the standby list right at midnight tonight?
Or does it not matter at all for Southwest and is fully status-based for same day change?
I’m guessing our odds are slim since I assume we won’t be the only ones trying to get on a list for earlier flights and we don’t have A-List on Southwest.

It’s status-based and then by time, I believe.
So get on the list right at midnight.
Those with A-List or A-list preferred will not need to use the standby and can just do the same-day change.

Yes, you can request a new flight at midnight tonight.
In fact, if seats are available they can confirm the change if you booked Wanna Get Away Plus.
Same day standby for Wanna Get Away but you can always upgrade to Wanna Get Away Plus if it’s a reasonable cost as well for the confirmed same day change.
