• How Long Do Capital One Points Transfers To Aeroplan Take?

Posted by Lorna on January 8, 2024 at 10:54 am

Has anyone had point transfer delays with Capital One and Air Canada Aeroplan?

Friday night I made two separate point transfers from Capital One to Aeroplan for two different flights.

I thought Capital One to Aeroplan transfer time was instant.

The first one went through immediately the other is still in limbo almost 48 hrs later.

They were both for the same amount.

I checked with Capital One and they confirmed Air Canada received them.

    EDIT:

Sorry for not getting back earlier but I’m happy to say everything has been resolved.

They never did say the reason for the delay but both Capital One and Aeroplan stated it was not due to possible Aeroplan fraud review.

It took just under 3 days.

Capital One said sometimes it could take up to 5 days but I’m taking everything they say with a grain of salt.

On another note, I used Point.me concierge for a June/July trip to Sicily with a multi-city Catania and Palermo.

Swiss Air RT business from IAD to CTA and PMO to IAD, 280K miles plus $400 taxes for two.

The longest leg is only 14.5 hrs.

It probably went to the review team to verify it was not fraud.

Another reason to avoid doing multiple transactions in one day.

Two transfers of the same amount often get flagged as an error or fraud, with hindsight, you’d have been safer with a single transfer for the whole amount.

Aeroplan’s team will probably check it in the morning and resolve it.

I haven’t tried Capital One, but I did have a couple-hour delay after transferring to Aeroplan from Amex recently.

It showed up in the transactions on Aeroplan immediately, but the balance was delayed a couple of hours.
