Hyatt Regency Amsterdam Vs Andaz Prinsengracht?
Going to Amsterdam end of October and wondering what’s the best Amsterdam Hyatt hotel?
Does anyone have thoughts on Hyatt Regency Amsterdam vs Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht?
It is just 20k for Amsterdam Hyatt Regency vs 25k for Amsterdam Andaz.
The Andaz Amsterdam Reviews seem a tiny bit better.
I am Hyatt Globalist so interested in club room/breakfast, fitness room, and centrality of location.
I looked at IHG Kimpton but since I don’t have status, no free breakfast.
And Hilton seems expensive point wise and I am only Gold with Hilton.

I found the Hyatt Regency to be perfectly average.
Was there last summer and don’t plan on going back anytime soon.

We were at the Andaz in November and thought the location was perfect.
They were getting ready for a big remodel.
Our room was huge (suite) and comfortable but kind of odd (had huge windows that opened to the atrium, kept curtains pulled).
Breakfast was good, and service was on the slow side.
The front desk staff was excellent.
I would stay there again.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Hyatt Regency Amsterdam last year.
Breakfast is in the restaurant and the buffet is extensive.
In the evening the lounge has light food, it could serve as dinner if you’re not hungry but there’s only 1 hot appetizer, cheese, bread, salad, and a cold appetizer.
Good wine.

HR Amsterdam was amazing for me last May.
Walkable, but not touristy.
Wonderful decor.
Regency Club attendant went above and beyond, offering local suggestions, and helping with dinner reservations.
Plus the breakfast was the best hotel buffet I’ve ever had.
Highly recommended.

If the lounge is important, go with Regency as they don’t have one at the Andaz.
Additionally, Globalist treatment has been great at the Regency in terms of upgrades.
Their breakfast buffet was amazing as well.

Just returned from staying at the Kimpton de Witt.
Great property with wonderful staff in a good location.
They accommodated late checkout.
They have a nice social hour and their restaurant & room service were all great.
I don’t have the highest tier status either for complimentary breakfast but when I checked in, I used Kimpton’s current secret password and they extended their free breakfast buffet + menu offerings to our family of four!

I’ve stayed at both.
I stayed at Andaz Amsterdam in May 2021 and it is literally on the main canal and 5 minute walk from Anne Frank House.
Can’t have a better location.
The Andaz itself is a bit dated but has all the quirks of a W hotel.
I stayed at Hyatt Regency Amsterdam in October 2022 and it is more modern but is on the East Side of town.
It is maybe 10 minute subway ride to Central Station.
It is still in a good location (away from the crowds) but not as good as Andaz.
I would say the Regency is more modern than Andaz but if points cost about the same then do Andaz.
