Do I Need To Pay For AA Flight With AA Card For Free Checked Bag?
If I book an AA flight through Capital One’s travel portal but pay the taxes with my Citi AA business card, do I still get the free checked bag benefit?
Or do I need to purchase the entire flight using my Citi AA card?

With the AA credit card, those benefits are tied to your AA frequent flyer account number.
As long as that is on your booking, and has to be manually changed, you can get the benefit.

Keep in mind those free bags are for Domestic flights only but if it is, as mentioned you do get free bags as your card is tied to your AA number.

I have an AA flight to the Bahamas next month.
I believe the free checked bag is only for domestic flights.

For AA cards simply having the cards gets free checked bags.
No need to pay with the AA card.
