As a frequent Avelo flyer, I will guess that you canceled your flight and re-booked it with a flight credit?

In that case, I don’t think you will be covered by Capital One because you typically need to pay some portion of the ticket with the card.

However, Avelo has one of the best on-time performance metrics of all US airlines so the chances of it being delayed or canceled are slim.

I’m more concerned about a schedule change.

But yes, I canceled and rebooked.

I originally booked through the Capital One portal, but then a sale occurred so I canceled and rebooked on the same flight, using the Avelo travel credit that was provided.

But there is no refund on my credit card hence why I’m wondering if it will be covered.

How would they know the first flight was canceled if there was no refund to my credit card?

Typically when you file a claim with the credit card, they require proof that the flight was in fact purchased with their credit card.

In your case, you are able to show that you did purchase an airline ticket with their credit card, so technically you should be fine as long as they don’t look into it too much.
