Is 40 Minutes Enough Time To Connect In Zurich (ZRH)?
Is 40 minutes enough connection time between a flight from IAD to ZRH and then onto PMI – Mallorca Spain?
I have carry-on luggage.
I am never sure how much time to leave between flights coming from the USA into EUROPE and continuing onto another place in Europe.
Is the answer different if it’s on the same airline booking versus switching airlines?

Is this an all-Swiss (LX) itinerary, or is this a United and Edelweiss/LX itinerary?
If mixed I wouldn’t, but figure if you miss, you’ll end up on the noon LX flight (if not sold out!)

It’s tighter than I’d like, though Zurich is a great airport to connect.
You could do it if everything went according to plan, but you’d be exposed if there were any delays leaving the USA.

Yes, no problem!
ZRH is an extremely efficient airport.

If all on one ticket and was sold to you by the airline I wouldn’t fret.
They will take care of you if you miss it.
That said, if this could ever work, Zurich is the place.

I had a 1-hour international USA inbound connection in ZRH and had time to clear EU Border Control and even go to the lounge for 30 minutes!
As long as the inbound flight is on time, you are fine.
ZRH is the most efficient airport there is.
