• Is 45 Min Connection Doable At SFO Airport?

Posted by Willis on February 1, 2024 at 9:10 am

I booked a flight using points last month from Atlanta to Auckland on United with a layover in San Francisco (SFO).

At the time of booking the layover was 69 minutes.

United has changed the schedule which now only leaves 45 minutes between flights.

I have never been to the SFO airport, is this enough connection time?

If I reschedule the first leg to an earlier flight, will I have to make up the difference if the flight is more expensive?

Will this be enough time for my luggage to be transferred?

No that is cutting it close.

Look up what United flight you’d prefer then call in.

They’ll move you for free since they changed the schedule.

    I’d call United.

My aunt just had this same issue (on a Delta flight) and they agreed it was too short of a layover and put her on an earlier flight, no cost to her.

If you don’t get someone who agrees with you, then hang up and call again!

SFO sucks for international transfers, that would be real tight.

    Like others said, call!

As said before called with a reasonable alternative – it shouldn’t be a problem.

I had to do something like that with United recently and it was an easy fix.

Hope it is for you too!

45 mins is doable in SFO, tight, it’s possible.

But as others stated above, call and request an earlier flight because of schedule change.
