Which credit card do you prefer for car rentals:
Amex Gold or Chase Sapphire Preferred?
I have my own car insurance, but I’m looking for which credit card will give me better car insurance protection just in case.

I don’t mind using my Amex for car rentals.
I think it only costs $20 per rental.

Chase Sapphire Preferred is the best choice.
They are the primary option for rental cars, making it much easier to get paid.

Need longer (and in some ways better) coverage?
Opt-In for the premium coverage offered by American Express (flat rate around $15-20 paid per rental).
Have American Express Platinum and renting from Hertz?
Utilize your Platinum benefits.
