My 5 Star Review Of Impression Moxche
Impression Moxche Trip Report:
Last week, I spent 5 days at Impression Moxche.
I booked before the devaluation at 113K Hyatt points for 5 nights.
Now, award rates have doubled after the category changes in the spring (Impression is now Category F under All Inclusive, ranging from 42K off-peak to 58K peak rates).
Impression guests have their own separate building/pool within the larger Moxche resort and can access the entire grounds, but other guests can’t access Impression areas.
The weather was cooler with occasional showers, so the pool was a bit cool but manageable after adjusting to the water temperature.
There were enough on-site activities to keep us entertained for 5 days.
Most evenings, there was a good show at the theater.
The food was very good with lots of dining options.
You can see a full list of Impression Moxche restaurants.
We mostly had breakfast at Seaside and lunch at Cielo, which are for Impression guests only.
Guests staying 5+ nights at Impression get a complimentary dinner at Teodoro, their signature restaurant (otherwise costing $200 per person).
Our favorite dinner spot was Bisou, the French restaurant accessible to all guests.
Our least favorite was Ember.
Impression guests can also order roast duck at Suki (for 4+ people), so make new friends and invite someone to share.
The service was friendly but sometimes lacked polish and attention to detail.
Impression guests have butler service, but we only used ours a couple of times (to make reservations at Teodoro and for a complimentary 20-minute scalp/hand/foot massage at the spa).
Be sure to download the Hyatt all inclusive app in advance.
Tipping is not required but we tipped after most meals and spa services.
From my observation, less than 50% of guests tipped.
One morning, we sat through a vacation club presentation for $350 in onsite credit (which we used for extra massages at the spa) and a 3-day/2-night certificate for a future all inclusive stay that expires in 18 months (higher-end resorts are 2-day/1-night).
It was low pressure and could make sense for those not into points.
I’ve never been a huge fan of all inclusive resorts, but Impression Moxche was great overall.
At 113K points for 5 nights, it was a steal.
Not sure if I’d pay the current double rates, but it left a positive impression, and I’d consider other high-end brands (Zoetry, Secrets, non-Impression) for the Hyatt brand explorer bonus.
Overall, I’d give it a 9/10.
