Is It A Good Deal To Use Hotel Points At Disney?
For those people who have done Disneyland on points, how do you decide if the package deal with a travel agent (cheaper rate on hotels and tickets) is better than purchasing tickets separately and using points for hotel?
Is it a good deal to use hotel points at Disney?
For example, I have a Disney package quote that is less than the cash value of the hotel for 3 nights and it includes 2 day park hopper ticket + genie + for 4.
The redemption is huge for use of Hyatt for just hotel reservations as well, 10 points.
So, neither is bad…but the package is so good it really pulls the redemption down if that makes sense.

I am a travel agent and I love points and miles but I would do the package and use discounted Disney giftcards to pay for it and buy those giftcards somewhere you get extra redemption value.

Ok, so I can pay for my package to the travel agent with Disney gift cards?
My one and only trip, I used gift cards to pay for all my charges to the hotel room at WDW.
This time for Disneyland I am staying at a good neighbor’s place so I didn’t think that would apply.
Since it is a package, can I pay for the tickets part with gift cards?
I do have the Chase Ink Cash so that would be good!

Yes, you can pay a travel agent with gift cards at a good neighborhood hotel.
I keep track of where the discounts are and tell my clients to go get them to save them money.
Depending on the deals it can be up to 10% off that way.
You can get VISA cards at Staples and use those to buy your gift cards.

If you have the cash and a better use / value for the points for something else?
You can book Disneyland tickets with points through the Chase portal under activities if you have UR points.
