Should I Get Bilt Rewards Credit Card?
Posted by Pamela on December 16, 2023 at 1:55 pmI have seen mixed reviews for the Bilt Credit Card online.
I would love to know any personal pros/cons if you have the card and have used the Bilt credit card for rent with/without issues.
Also does anyone know if there is a Bilt sign up bonus?

Absolutely love my BILT card.
Decent multipliers.
Travel insurance benefits.
$0 annual fee.
Flawless rent payment.
There’s really no reason not to have this card if you rent.
And now they even allow you to see transfer partner searches on their app.
It’s fantastic.

I don’t have rent so I don’t have the card.
For me it just makes sense to have a Bilt account and get a few benefits from monthly games, trivia, linking accounts, etc.
I can pay the majority of my accommodations and hotels with other credit cards with better perks and points.
If I had rent or a mortgage that I could pay with Bilt and not other credit cards, I would definitely get Bilt!

I’ve had it for about a year and wish I would have applied sooner.
For a no-annual fee card, it offers incredible benefits.
I’ve taken advantage of several transfer bonuses, my favorite thing is I can transfer to AA.

I literally just got it because on a budgeting page, some had commented that they paid their mortgage with it, too.
Because you get a routing number and account number, it looks just like any bank account.
Or Bilt will send a check, or if you pay through certain cash apps.
I’ll be trying it out starting with my next payment.

I love my Bilt card.
It’s a no-brainer for renters.
I did my entire last vacation with just bilt reward points.
Never had an issue with rent payment

There is one issue with the Bilt card that while it doesn’t happen to everyone I think it’s important to note.
The card has had relatively widespread fraud issues compared to other cards.
It may never happen to you but it is a real issue worth noting.

There are issues.
It’s a Mastercard and not accepted everywhere.
If you pay your rent for points, you must also use the card 5x more per cycle in order to keep the points.
It is a partner of Wells Fargo but has a different department for rent issues which can be hard to get ahold of.
Sometimes these people are difficult to deal with. It can be tricky to get signed up to pay your rent.
There are 2 ways to do so, so you may have to have a rep walk you through it.
If you have it done via the charge account, it might not go through if you hit your limit.
You will have to switch it to the routing number and account number method.

I use it to pay rent.
Super easy.
Love it.
Just have to remember to use the card 5 times in the month to get points for the rent.
I hack that by going to the grocery store once and buying 5 things and paying for each separately.

One con is the customer service is a little tricky to get ahold of.
They don’t have a customer service phone line, you can only talk to them via email.
Their live chat is a bot.
You can talk to Mastercard about the credit card itself if you have issues with transactions (not including rent).
