I’m going in the second half of May, and based on my research, it looked like it would be okay.

But as always, it just depends on the weather that comes through in any particular year.

I once traveled to watch the migration based on suggested dates from previous years, but the rains came early that year and we totally missed the migration!

In May, I’m not expecting any momentous animal activity like the migration, but hoping the weather holds and we just get good general game viewing days.

I’m assuming Marriott will have the right off-road vehicles, and no vehicles are allowed off-road in Masai Mara, so hopefully road conditions don’t come into play.

But game viewing isn’t great if it’s raining, so hoping we don’t get much rain in the latter half of May.

If there is too much foilage, then you can’t see the animals in the brush.

I went in January and was okay but was definitely the off season, as I went on the safaris all alone with the guides.

Saw everything except the rhinos which are super rare.
