• U4GM Tanking Made Easy in POE

Some builds aim to take hits and keep standing. This tank-focused guide walks through how to configure resistances and sustain life during prolonged fights in tough maps.

    Max and Overcap Resistances

For tank builds, resistance capping is just the beginning. Aim for 120% total resistances to buffer against elemental exposure and curses. Use Purity of Elements, crafted mods, and Eldritch implicits to achieve this.

    Boost Physical Mitigation

Stack armor via Determination and Granite Flasks. Use <font face=”Noto Sans SC”>PoE Currency</font> Fortify Support or trigger Fortify via melee skills. Additionally, consider taking “Physical Damage taken as X Element” mods to leverage high resistances.

    Use Guard Skills Smartly

Molten Shell shines with high armor, while Immortal Call shines with Endurance Charges. Tanks should automate these with CWDT setups or manual triggers depending on cooldown needs.

    Efficient Blood Recovery

Use flasks with “Gain Life on Hit” for fast attacks, or high regen for slow tanky builds. For CI tanks, prioritize Energy Shield regeneration and recovery rate mods.

    Block and Suppression

If you’re playing a max-block build (Gladiator or Necro), stack “Recover X life on block” modifiers. For spell-based tanks, 100% spell suppression becomes your best friend.

    Flask Sustain

Tanks often stand longer, so flask uptime is crucial. Use “Gain Charges on Hit” mods, and combine with Flask Effect Duration to maintain uptime in prolonged fights.

    Debuff Support

Run Enfeeble or Temporal Chains on Blasphemy to reduce enemy output. You can also use Bonechill or Wither debuffs to control damage over time.

A good tank isn’t just about armor—it’s about smart resistance planning, layered mitigation, and constant recovery. With the right balance, you become a true <font face=”Noto Sans SC”>PoE 1 Currency</font> immovable object in POE’s harshest maps.
