• What Are Typical Free Carnival Cruise Offers?

Posted by Leonard on April 2, 2023 at 1:51 am

P2 finally got some cruise offers from Carnival.

They say it’s for up to a balcony cabin but really mostly inside cabins.

The bigger kicker for us though is that all the typical school break times (winter break, summer break, spring break) are blocked out.

We mainly are looking into it because our teen wants to try a cruise.

We took kids out of school before for family trips but when they get to high school it’s not that easy.

For others who got these offers, is it essentially what we can expect or should we hold out for other dates to open up?

Blackout dates during peak travel times will be the norm.

If cabins are made available during these times, there will be very few and they will be gone very fast.

These “free” cruises are not intended to replace revenue passengers.

They are meant to fill cabins that would otherwise go empty, thereby creating additional opportunities for profits in the casino, shops, bars, specialty restaurants, excursion sales, spa treatments, etc.

In other words, the cruise lines know what their passenger loads historically are, so they know when to sell and when to “give away” cabins.
