What Does United Waitlist Icon Mean When Using Miles?
I’m considering upgrading my cabin using points.
What does this United waitlist icon mean?
It doesn’t show if I pay cash.
Right now, on this flight, one first-class seat is taken, but only for one leg.
I know this isn’t a great value, but it’s my birthday vacation, so I’m okay with splurging since the other flights I’m taking are all with Southwest.

Being waitlisted for an upgrade means you might not get it.
There’s no surety that upgrade space will become available.
Also, remember that people with status will be ahead of you on the list, but not those waiting for a free upgrade.
