What’s Best Airline Transfer Partner For Capital One Points?
Posted by Agustina on June 5, 2023 at 6:12 amHave any of you transferred Capital One Points to one of their airline partner programs?
Which partner program did you choose and why?
They all appear to be non-US airlines, so I am not familiar with their programs and therefore some data points would be highly appreciated!

I have transferred to Flying Blue (Air France and KLM).
Both airlines are good for European travel.
Lower taxes/fees than Virgin and generally good award availability for most fare classes and destinations as long as you have some date flexibility.

The only way to know which partner to choose is to search for a flight that works for you and see how much it costs in points for that partner.
Search for specific award flights that you want before transferring.
The easiest partners to search that cover most of the bases are British Airways Executive Club (for OneWorld), AirFrance Flying Blue (for SkyTeam), and Air Canada Aeroplan (for Star).
There are some potentially better deals for the same flights with some of the other transfer partners but some of them have some frustrating quirks and these three generally have the easiest learning curve (although none is completely without hassle).

I’d transfer to Air Canada and book Singapore Biz and Emirates F seats.
Will also transfer to LifeMiles (Avianca) as they have lots of Star Alliance partners.
They have no fuel surcharges and tend to cost fewer miles for the same flights on Air Canada/ United.
Avianca Lifemiles is also good for UK/EU flights.

Turkish Miles and Smiles.
I got round trip business class to Europe for 63k points.

They sell flights for US carriers based on codeshare agreements.
The easiest one to search in my opinion is Air France for AF/KLM/Delta flights.

Cathay Pacific but it somehow triggered a fraud alert and my account is still frozen.
Annoying.
I’ve transferred to Aeroplan previously.

I’ve transferred them to Aeroplan, and possibly Flying Blue?
Great value can be found in both of those programs if you know what you’re looking for.

Transferred to Turkish for a United flight from the West Coast to Hawaii.
It was 7500 miles per person one-way, in economy.
