I’ve come across many recommendations for using backpacks instead of suitcases for travel.
Which backpack is best for traveling?
I’m looking for a smaller travel backpack suitable for day trips or hiking.
Can anyone recommend the best budget travel backpack?
Ideally, something affordable that still offers good quality.

I’m a fan of the Tripped backpack because it folds into its own pocket.
It’s a great daypack to stow in a larger backpack, but I’ve also used it as my sole travel bag for a 5-day trip without any issues.
It’s inexpensive and even cheaper now compared to when I purchased mine (along with two others as gifts)

When choosing my travel backpack, I first checked the measurements for personal item and carry-on sizes and then shopped accordingly to find a suitable bag.
I found my backpack at a surplus store, and it fits the personal item size perfectly.
Additionally, I use a crossbody bag to carry bulky items, and so far, it hasn’t been counted as a separate personal item.
