What’s Best Kyoto Hotel Using Points?
I am looking for the best Kyoto hotel on points:
Debating between the Ritz Carlton Kyoto and Park Hyatt Kyoto.
Both are great point redemptions but I am not sure which one.
I have Hyatt Explorist and Marriott Gold.
In terms of Park Hyatt Kyoto vs Ritz Carlton Kyoto, which one would you choose?
I also have the option to stay at the Ritz for 1 night and Park Hyatt for 2 nights.

Haven’t stayed at the Ritz Carlton Kyoto but Park Hyatt Kyoto is my favorite hotel in the world.
I got a little turned off by Marriott after our stay at the St. Regis Osaka last spring.
I think if you stayed 2 nights at Park Hyatt you would wish you’d stayed all 3.
Plus, moving hotels is a pain.
If there’s availability for your dates, definitely book it.
We stayed 2 nights in May when I was Hyatt Explorist and it was the only truly flawless hotel stay I’ve ever had.
Just went back the week before last for 4 nights and it still didn’t feel like enough.
This time I was a Hyatt Globalist so got breakfast every day and it was fantastic.
I pretty much wish I could just move in and make sure to build in time to enjoy the spa / onsen facilities.

The Park Hyatt Kyoto is amazing.
Highly recommended.
Make sure you go to the spa and eat the breakfast.
It was the most luxe experience of my life and I’ve stayed at a lot of nice hotels.
