    Only use Etihad if it’s the only possible transfer partner.

    This is the typical experience for last-second points inflation.

    Also, if you have a new account with them, it likely won’t even allow you to book until some archaic manual process is done on their end.

    Their whole site, phone support, and policies all suck.

    Same here!

    It happened to us a couple of months ago.

    Needed to transfer an extra 1,000 points.

    I just did this last week and had to call in to complete the booking properly.

    It did cost a few more points (like maybe 1-200) but it was still around 6,000 each.

    I had this happen twice so I just threw an extra 1,000 miles in my account to cover it.

    It sucks and is irritating.
