It’s better to wait 30 to 90 days if possible, but not waiting won’t necessarily lead to a rejection right away.

MemberApril 23, 2024 at 8:42 pm in reply to: Do International Purchases Incur Foreign Transaction Fees?Keep in mind, it’s called a foreign transaction fee, not a currency conversion fee (though some banks might include that too).
Even if the charge is in USD, if the company processing the payment isn’t based in the US, you’ll probably get hit with the fee.
That’s why when overseas point-of-sale systems give you the option to pay in USD, it’s a bad idea.
Not only is the exchange rate likely to be bad, but you might also end up with foreign transaction fees despite trying to dodge them.

However, if you received it through a Chase credit card, unfortunately, there’s no such option available.

I visited Mexico three times last year and plan to return this fall.
While I’ve been to Costa Rica and found it nice, I might make one more trip there.
Personally, I believe Mexico has more to offer.

MemberFebruary 5, 2024 at 4:23 pm in reply to: Is Buying AA Miles Via Mileage Multiplier A Good Deal?$168 / 5,184 miles = .032 cents a mile.
You typically only want to buy miles if it is under 1 cent per a mile.
Almost always any airline selling miles is usually not a good deal.

The Andaz Abu Dhabi will be the cheapest on points, but it’s a little way out from the city center.
The Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi will be more centrally located.
For Dubai, the Grand Hyatt Dubai will probably be the best points / location.

We have gotten into Capital One Lounge on arrival twice.
Our connecting flight wasn’t until the next morning, so we scanned our arrival boarding pass.

MemberJanuary 18, 2024 at 7:12 pm in reply to: Can I Have 2 AMEX Business Platinum Credit Cards?I have several simply because they keep shoving them down my throat with targeted offers.
I will and have canceled some when they are up for renewal.
It’s not really difficult for a certain lifestyle to recoup the annual fee but juggling multiple same cards takes some organization and gets to be a hassle.
Unless the retention offer is 80% of the sub I’m canceling.

MemberJanuary 17, 2024 at 9:19 am in reply to: Are AMEX Points Better Than Chase Ultimate Rewards?Amex is the better program.
It’s easier to earn points, larger subs, better value with its airline partners, more lenient on rules, and better-cobranded cards.
Amex all day.

Iberia was awesome, as we exited the plane they had staff right there with new boarding passes etc for our new flight on to Geneva.
Look up the map of the airport so you know where to go for your next flight.
Ask for directions etc…
We were sent downstairs then back up etc…
The main terminal is nice and has fantastic ham sandwiches!
