I don’t know when your trip is, but a new Priority Pass lounge just opened called The Club SFO.
It’s a Club which aren’t thought that well of normally, but this one looks huge and is brand new, definitely seems to be the nicest one I’ve ever seen.
I haven’t been yet.
It’s in Terminal 1 which might be easier to get to than International Terminal A.

After you make a booking, you’ll receive 10% of the points back.
This means you need to have the full amount of points required for the booking in your account beforehand, without any discounts applied.

Nope, can’t do it.
I’ve tried multiple times and complained about it, but no luck.
All I get is the same response that they are working on it.
It’s especially frustrating if you have the card from before Wells Fargo took over.
This is one of the reasons why I don’t use the card as much.

Cruises are my favorite way to meet my sign up bonus.
Especially if the cruise leaves within the sign up bonus period, literally you can charge tours, casino play and everything to the room.
And I love to use the points to get to and stay in the location, because they’re usually refundable if my plans change.
Usually I book a flight somewhere in points way in advance to get the price I want, with a cruise in mind but not booked.
I’ll wait for the cruise fare to come down, usually within a month of the cruise, then book the cruise with a SUB I’m working on.
Hope that helps!

I specifically asked Chase about this pre-covid, but you can call them and confirm.
However, personally I would not depend on credit card travel insurance.
Go for actual travel insurance.
Consider it a cost of doing (travel) business.

MemberFebruary 1, 2024 at 2:24 pm in reply to: Is Transferring AMEX Points To British Airways A Good Deal?Generally speaking, if you have to ask if a transfer bonus is a good deal, then you shouldn’t be speculatively transferring points.
All transferable points are most valuable when they stay as transferable points, as that’s when they have the most potential.
As soon as you transfer to a partner, you are doing so at the opportunity cost of every other transfer partner.
You’ve just severely limited your redemption options.
Keep your points transferable until you have a specific redemption you want to transfer for.
Unless you are a points and miles expert who is extremely experienced in a particular currency that you regularly use for redemptions, do not ever speculatively transfer points just based on a bonus.

Thanks for your input, say if I’m only looking for flight award notifications.
Which one then?
I get there are subtle differences in functionalities but my main purpose is for flight alerts.
