I just looked into this last week. Locking credit and freezing credit are two different things.
Freezing credit doesn’t cost anything, and by law, the credit rating agencies have to provide it.
I set up accounts for Person 1 and Person 2 with Experian, Transunion, and Equifax. I managed to figure out how to access the free freeze on all three websites.
I agree with another comment that Experian makes it more difficult to find the free freeze option compared to their $30 per month lockdown process.
The main difference between locking and unlocking, and freezing and unfreezing, is that the former happens instantly.
Even if the latter takes a day, it’s easy to plan for and doesn’t cost anything.

We bought Osprey backpacks (Farpoint 40 and Fairview 40) and used them for 6 weeks traveling all over Europe.
I created capsule wardrobes for each of us, allowing us to take about a week’s worth of clothing, wash, mix and match, etc for the entire trip.
The frame and hip support on these backpacks are fantastic, making them easy to carry without muscle fatigue.

Transavia is a low cost carrier.
Staff is nice but absolutely zero leg room though.

I flew them JFK>CAI and CAI>LHR both legs in business class.
I thought it was perfectly fine, except for the no alcohol part.
The food was actually pretty good.

When I flew a couple of years ago wasn’t a flat bed but like the seats you would get on domestic USA first class.
Plenty of room.
Flight attendants were very attentive and provided great service though I don’t remember the food being especially good.
It’s the fastest and easiest way to get to Nairobi from JFK for sure.

Check if the route is flying newer (eg: leased from Delta) planes or old ones.
I think on SFO-Mumbai they do fly the new ones.
I have always enjoyed their food and service (in economy), but the issue has been older planes.
The new ones should be good.

So I would use those credits up first.

No you can’t upgrade Delta flights with Ultimate Rewards points.
This is why it’s important to be diversified with points.
I know Delta points are not as valuable as URs but when the time and place comes and you need them, it’s best to have them already there.

Consider buying vitamins in Europe, they have everything you need there, that’d be the safest solution.

Yes, you can pay a travel agent with gift cards at a good neighborhood hotel.
I keep track of where the discounts are and tell my clients to go get them to save them money.
Depending on the deals it can be up to 10% off that way.
You can get VISA cards at Staples and use those to buy your gift cards.
