Both times I went to Turkey, I paid in cash for my accommodations.

I didn’t stay in fancy hotels, but I managed to find 4-star ones for less than $100 in various cities.

My advice is, that no matter where you plan to stay, it’s worth checking out cash prices before using up a bunch of points.

Turkey is quite affordable, so you might be pleasantly surprised!

If you are buying an Antarctica cruise, check the fine print on your credit card insurance policy because most credit card travel insurance won’t cover such an expensive trip.

It’s just like car rental insurance doesn’t cover exotic cars.

Also, I heard of a horror story where someone had Antarctica travel insurance and their flights got canceled so they missed their cruise departure and travel insurance wouldn’t cover it.

If you are spending $30,000, I wouldn’t be too concerned about spending another couple hundred to have peace of mind.

I’ve used Ketchikan Charter Boats several times, and they’re awesome to deal with!

Always caught plenty of salmon with them!

Yesterday, I completed my EVA transaction without any problems.

What surprised me the most was how quickly the points transferred over—they were available instantly.

(Although, my friend mentioned it might take up to three days according to their past experience.)

    Sure, for various restaurants, yeah.

Usually, I’ve heard that for the same restaurant, it resets after 3 hours.

I went for the Capital One Venture X to get $300 back.

If you’re wondering about the rental coverage similarity between the two cards, I suggest you check.

For me, Capital One worked well as it offered standard insurance and price matching.

I found a better deal on another site and they matched it within 24 hours of booking.

Singapore Airlines used to provide a free layover hotel (for 6 hours) on some routes but that ended in 2019.

They still do offer a free city tour of Singapore that is fun.

No need to do immigration or anything.

You will need to get your luggage, go through customs, move to next airline, and check in.

Not sure if there is enough time.

If not on the same ticket, you may lose your connection, and no one will reimburse you.

It’s your responsibility to have plenty of time.

Ethique is my preferred bar shampoo/conditioner.

I use their travel sizes or cut down full size bars.

I also take Dr. Bronner’s Castile soap bar for body, emergency laundry, etc. but I don’t love the way it works for my hair.

Decant all toiletries for just the amount you need (plus a day or two extra) and leave unnecessary items at home.

We travel backpack only and my biggest tip for saving space is to be really honest with yourself about what you NEED versus what you want to take.

Start with all the need items and then you’ll know how much space you have left for wants.

I also tend to pack a couple days early so I let my packing list simmer in my brain.

Then I check the weather again right before we leave and make any adjustments for forecast or anything I’ve been questioning.

    Have a great time!

After trying a bunch of different brands over the years, I think AirPods Pro 2nd Gen are the best option for most people ($189 on Amazon).

In my opinion, they are slightly better at noise cancellation than my Bose QC 35 II (I haven’t tried 700/QC45/XM5s).

I find AirPods a bit easier to sleep with them on than other over-ear headphones.

The downside is they won’t last a whole long haul flight.

I am Diamond and I stayed at the Hilton Brussels Grand Place last year.

Nice hotel and I really liked the central location, which was very convenient.

I would stay there again if I ever go to Brussels again.

They upgraded me to the executive floor.

I get much better upgrades in Asia.

I got full breakfast and access to the club lounge (nothing special).
