You can use the lounge passes anywhere without any issues.
Just download the Visa Airport Companion app and add your credit card to your account.
Then, you can search for lounges by airport to see where the passes can be used.

There is a JFK to EWR Airport Shuttle.
That is probably easier and cheaper than public transit.
It used to cost $30 pre-covid but not sure anymore.

ORD only has one and it is super mediocre and is in Terminal 5, so not useful to 95% of United and American flyers.
Better to get a card that has lounge access with the airline.

You’re better off finding Delta One Awards available through programs like Flying Blue or Virgin Atlantic.

Hyatt Regency LAX is within walking distance of the terminals and also has better breakfast options.

Like others have said, you could easily spend the time in Milan.
I’ve been there 2x and I think it’s underrated.
In addition to the Last Supper, the Duomo, and La Scala, Sforza Castle (Castello Sforzesco) is interesting.
I second the Starbucks (if only to see it – it is pretty impressive and in a beautiful building), and you should make sure to try Milanese risotto and aperitivo one evening (happy hour with free snacks – a big part of Milanese culture).
If you really want to get out of town, I agree with someone else’s comment that the town of Como is not great, but there’s a town up on the hill above Como that’s pretty called Brunate.
Take a funicular up for a stroll around – and the ferry to Bellagio and Varenna from Como is easy.
In my opinion, Varenna is smaller but prettier.

I just spent three days in Brussels in October.
This is a GREAT city for your 12 hours.
Easy train into the center city and the city core is compact and easily walkable.
Wander around the Grand Place – it’s Christmas Market season which will be pretty festive, especially after the sun goes down.
Eat chocolate, waffles, and fries and like a previous poster said Delirium Cafe is amazing if you’re a beer drinker.
Check out the touristy but cute Manneken Pis statue and duck into Poechenellekelder pub across the street.

Terminal 2 is huge but easy to navigate.
The problem is if one flight is Terminal 1 (unlikely).
