It all depends on the currency they use for charging.
If it’s in USD, you’re good to go.
Otherwise, be prepared to cough up some extra cash.
(And just a heads up, don’t opt for dynamic currency conversion if they offer it.)

Don’t worry about applying for ETIAS just yet!
It’s not officially launched and won’t be required until sometime in May of next year (2025).

To refer someone to a Sapphire card, you must have either a Sapphire Preferred or Sapphire Reserve card.
Once one of you has either card, you can refer the other person.

No, the Explorer Card does have some travel protections just not as good as Chase Sapphire Reserve.

Currently have one with Alamo and pick up was great, even got an upgrade to a larger car.

I’ve only had a couple of claims under the regulations and both times just went on the airline’s website, completed, and submitted the claim.
I received the compensation that was required under the regulations.
Easy peasy.
I would first file with the airline (since you don’t have to give commission), if they deny it or don’t respond, then use one of those companies.

Buy several types on Amazon and try them before you leave.
Then mix and match until you find what works.

Depending on the item and who you bought it from you could ask for them to return in the form of store credit or on a giftcard.
That would prevent the money from going back to the Amex card and would not risk a clawback.

I personally had a fantastic stay at Andaz Liverpool Street.
It’s Category 6, so 25k per night (if I remember correctly).

There is one issue with the Bilt card that while it doesn’t happen to everyone I think it’s important to note.
The card has had relatively widespread fraud issues compared to other cards.
It may never happen to you but it is a real issue worth noting.

I probably wouldn’t risk this, but IF I did I’d recommend an escort.
I know AF offers the service, but they were actually more expensive than the service we used.
They skip ALL the lines and know the shortest routes to take.
We used Chabe for their VIP connection service.
It was 180 euros for 3 people.
I don’t think they charged extra for my son, whereas AF charges per person.
