You paid so you wouldn’t get hit with a cancellation fee.

They have plenty of tables.
The portions are big, so you might want to share and try appetizers, mains, and desserts.
It’s a pretty direct route back to the airport, too.
Super easy. (I live a mile from there.)

I’ve had positive experiences with various car rental companies in the UK.
One key consideration is opting for an automatic car, especially if you’re not accustomed to driving on the left side.
It’s essential to allow ample time for the journey from Scotland to London, as motorways tend to be narrower compared to highways in the US, potentially extending travel time beyond Google Maps estimates.
Having both driven and taken the train from London to Scotland, I would recommend the train, unless you’ve allocated enough time for overnight stops along the way to London after passing through Edinburgh/Glasgow.

MemberApril 1, 2024 at 7:43 pm in reply to: Can I Combine 2 Credit Card Travel Insurance Policies?I highly recommend securing a separate insurance policy that covers either the entire cost of your cruise or the entirety of your trip.
Credit card travel insurance often comes with significant exclusions.
It’s advisable to contact your credit card provider and inquire about specific coverage details before relying solely on them.
Personally, I utilized World Nomads for my last cruise (fortunately, I didn’t need to make a claim).
Additionally, some cruise ships offer their own insurance for the portions of the trip booked through them.

In fact, flying was almost the same price.
On my return journey, I opted to use Avios points to book a flight, which turned out to be very affordable.
It’s an alternative idea that takes about the same amount of time.

It becomes 2.5x if you have a United credit card, resulting in a total of 3x points on the Sapphire Reserve and 2.5x points on United, giving a combined earning rate of 5.5x.
These gift cards can then be used on British Airways or Delta to earn an additional point or two.

I don’t know if it’ll work for Capital One Lounge though.

You’d need to chat with Bilt and see if the payment process to a university housing unit tracks to a traditional landlord process.
Bilt has a chat function and you can ask there and get an official response.

Aside from everything else, for a 6 AM flight, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a lounge that will be open before you have to go to your gate.

MemberDecember 14, 2023 at 4:57 pm in reply to: Should I Add My Spouse As Authorized User On My Credit Card?My wife and I have completely merged finances with no personal accounts, so there are no accounting problems figuring out what gets paid from where.
I handle most of the credit card sign-ups and will let my wife know when she needs to apply for a new card or if there are interesting spending bonuses.
If she knows about a big expense coming up, she’ll ask me if we need a new card for the signup bonus.
She handles the accounting, making sure everything is paid on time and also flagging annual fees that require a keep / cancel / product change decision.
I’m trying to take over some of the card management functions so they don’t wait until the annual fee appears.
Add, thinking ahead, we have two kids 22 and 24.
They were A/Us on some of our cards from their mid-teens (and still are, for lounge access) but I never used them as P3 and P4 so they would still have the full range of cards available to them as adults.

We had a similar experience at JFK.
We had to claim our bags and wait until the next carrier’s check-in opened for our flight, which was in two hours.
