Does Avianca Lifetimes Have a 24 Hour free cancelation ticket policy?
Due to an unfortunate turn of events, my husband discovered a way of getting around the $200 cancellation fee with Lifemiles.
Apparently, tickets booked with Lifemiles can be canceled same day without a fee as long as it’s canceled by 8 pm Colombian time.
This is super restrictive but I think everyone has had a moment where you make a booking only to find a cheaper option or better itinerary an hour after booking.
This has happened to me several times and this actually saved my husband 180k life miles and $600 today 🙂.

Here is another tip for Avianca. I lived in Colombia for 6 years. Set your language to Spanish and currency to COP and get your prices in Pesos. Then switch to miles.

If I remember correctly, the 24 hrs cancellation rule applies to both cash and award tickets when the airlines don’t give you an option to hold the tickets for 24 hrs. If the airlines allow you to hold the tickets for 24 hours, the 24 hrs cancel-able does not apply.

All airlines flying to the US have 24 hrs cancellation even low cost airlines too
