Does Lufthansa allow point upgrades on partner bookings?
Does anyone know if Lufthansa allows point upgrades on partner bookings? Looking at booking two nonstop Economy flights through Avianca now, then later this year or early next, upgrading the seats to business with the 100k offer on the Miles And Smiles card, but I don’t want to go through all that trouble if they’re going to tell me my flight is ineligible.
Before anyone goes “always book the class you want”, I’m aware, but unless someone knows how to book LH in J class 360 days out, that’s not an option.
I’ve read the entire upgrade section on Lufthansa and can’t find an answer, so hopefully someone’s done this or knows the answer!

Unfortunately, if are you suggesting booking an *award* seat and then trying to use Lufthansa miles to upgrade that then no, that is not possible. You can only upgrade paid tickets, not award tickets.
