Does Staples Allow Split Payment For Gift Cards?
Does anyone know if Staples will let you split the Visa $200 gift cards across two credit cards?
I have 2 AMEX Gold Business Cards and with the new $20 rebate each month, I am thinking that the next time Staples has the no-fee Visa gift cards, I can get $40 off a $200 gift card with my two biz gold cards.
Do you think this will work?

Most of the time will depend on your store if they allow it.
The Amex Business Gold does also specify excludes gift cards but it might work similarly to how the personal gold restaurant credit and the Platinum Saks credit.

Yes, and it’s a good way to prevent the automated “searches” that the system does to void out giftcard transactions.

It flat out says in the T&C no gift cards for the credit, so let us know how this works out.

I don’t think it’s worth making Amex angry for $40 a month.

Staples notoriously provides L3 data to notoriously clawback happy AMEX, so I would avoid doing this.

I am pretty sure based on the terms that a gift card won’t work:
“Eligible purchases do NOT include fees or interest charges, purchases of travelers checks, purchases or reloading of prepaid cards, or purchases of other cash equivalents.”
