Help! My Citi Thank You Points Mysteriously Disappeared From My Account
Has anyone ever had Citi Thank You points just disappear from their account?
It was only 11,123 points. Happened in the last 3 to 4 days. The account is only about 6 months old so not old enough to expire and haven’t had any refunds such that they would be clawed back.
Further, there are still points in my account. Going to call on it but hoping to get an idea on here on what the issue could possibly be before I call so I know how to approach the issue.
After 45 minutes and being transferred 4 times, I was told they “expired.”
I do NOT understand how an account I opened in approximately May and received the sign up bonus on in July/August could “expire” already, but they agreed to reinstate them. I will be transferring all points to a partner because obviously, they have some crazy short expiration period.
The points are back. These were not (to the best of my knowledge) transferred points.
If someone transferred points to me, I was not aware of it…and I don’t know why someone would.
The only thing I can come up with is I got some points through booking a hotel through their portal and got a 10x points bonus. I have not had the hotel stay yet…it is technically next week…although I did pre-pay for it.
I somewhat wonder if maybe there was something in the super fine print that said the “stay” had to be by a certain day. I don’t know this for sure. It is only a guess.
Regardless, they re-instated the points and I am going to transfer them to a partner soon.
