    No, I signed myself and P2 up for that card the same day, added each other as AUs on our cards, and we both got the bonus. Under no circumstance will being an AU on a card prevent you from getting that same card and bonus in the future.

    Being an AU will not prevent you from receiving the very same card in your own name. This Barclay Aviator Red promo is for a limited time, so if I were you, I’d apply ASAP and make your P2 an AU. Between the two of you it’s an easy 150,000 AA miles windfall!

    No but in the future you can make the AU someone not into the points game – no SSN required just name and birthday on this card. You could put Taylor Swift in there in theory -I would not and did not – card comes to P1 anyway. No sense wasting a spot on a REAL player.
