    Paying the taxes with the CSR is what triggers the coverage.

    Once the points are transferred, they are no longer Chase points so I wouldn’t count on that part working

    I agree with everyone that paying the taxes / fees on the card should at a minimum trigger the coverage.

    I still think the points should count because the points were “accumulated from a rewards program sponsored by Chase,” but either way I would think paying taxes / fees with the card is enough.

    You need to pay the taxes and fees for the trip with the card.

    Doesn’t matter if it is an award or revenue ticket.

    The legalese is pretty clear.

    They mean travel booked via the Chase portal with points.

    If you transfer to an airline program you didn’t book the ticket with Chase points.

    You booked it with the airline points/miles.

    That said, you’re still covered if you pay taxes/fees with the card.
