• Can I Immediately Rebook Singapore Award After Cancelling?

Posted by Hudson on April 8, 2023 at 8:23 am

I have a Singapore Airlines Kris Flyer question.

If I cancel a current business class booking via Singapore KrisFlyer points that I have because I wanted to rebook that SAME flight but add another segment in First to it.

What happens when I cancel my existing Singapore Airlines flight?

Does it go back into the inventory for me to be able to re-book?

Or does it get issued to somebody who is on the wait list for that same flight?

That same flight I am currently looking to cancel is on the waitlist so I didn’t want to cancel it if I can’t re-book it like right away.

I don’t want points sitting in my KrisFlyer account with no flights to book.

I would do this with an Agent, not on my own.

Not sure if that makes a difference.

When I’ve canceled SQ seats in the past, they haven’t come back.

This was in 2018 and 2020.

As others have said, it’s unpredictable.

It’s all in an algorithm, so you’re rolling the dice.

No guarantee Singapore will put your award seat back in inventory.

Perhaps better call Singapore service hotline to see if they can accommodate this particular request.
