Should i pay for my award ticket taxes with Delta AMEX Gold or Chase Sapphire Reserve?
If I’m booking award travel on Delta, should I pay taxes and fees with my Delta Gold Amex, or are the travel insurance benefits better with the Chase Sapphire Reserve?
I’m trying to phase out the Delta Amex since I’m not able to fly Delta often enough from our current location to make status with the new rules, but not sure which is best?

Chase Sapphire Reserve. There is zero benefit to paying them with the Delta Gold. Even the additional Delta miles will be worth less than the 3X UR with CSR

CSR has some of the best travel insurance. So I would use that.
Check the terms and conditions for the Amex, but I believe if you use the Delta Amex, you have to pay for the entire trip on that card, not just fees and taxes, to get travel insurance benefits.
