Which Hotel Is Better For Elite Status? Park Hyatt Bangkok Or St Regis Bangkok?
Posted by Khalid on October 5, 2023 at 12:27 pmWould you do the Park Hyatt Bangkok as a Globalist or the St Regis Bangkok as a Marriott Platinum member for 2 nights for a couple?
Also thinking of the Keemala or the Ritz Carlton Reserve after that for 4 nights.
For those who have been to any of these, feel free to chime in.

Keemala is luxury on a different level and although I haven’t been to the Ritz, Keemala is enchanting and very unique. I’ll be back.

Just finished a short one-night stay at the St Regis Bangkok yesterday. The cash rate was $400 a night for standard rooms, we used our 35k cert + 3k for redemption. Mariott Platinum Elite here. Terrible experience. Not synonymous with all the other St Regis experiences we had. The hotel felt like a cost-cutting victim on all corners. No upgrade, we had a friend join us for the complimentary elite recognition drinks by the bar. The waiter gave us a limited menu to pick from, not able to order from the regular menu. And then strictly enforces a 2-drink limit per room. Tells us we will be charged a la carte prices if we order a 3rd drink. The champagne sabering ritual was also very sad. They poured a mere sip from that one bottle and then spilt it among 30-something guests.
The butler provides a complimentary tea/coffee setup in the room and 2 free garment laundry per day, and that’s pretty much it. Breakfast had extensive variety, but if you compare it with any Bangkok chain brands, breakfast are equally comprehensive. I think our biggest disappointment was we were in the Siam area (on the day of check-in) for lunch when the live shooting happened. It was a nightmare to exit, and we were stuck there for hours because they shut down the BTS. And no cabs or Grab would take us. We reached out to the hotel, but their response was super unsympathetic, and was negotiating with us on the charges to pick us up. We ended up walking to the hotel in the rain and checked in late. When we arrived, none of the staff were empathetic about our situation, they just shrugged and gave us a robotic check-in when we shared our experience.

Both are very nice. I mean very nice. I went to park hyatt as an Explorist and got a nice upgrade. Not a suite but very nice.
St Regis is in my opinion a little more elegant. I stayed there on FHR but I only have Marriott gold status and the room wasn’t that special. But I had a butler. But I didn’t know what to do with one.
Honestly don’t think either is a bad option.
Park Hyatt is a little closer to the nightlife of nana plaza and Soi cowboy
