I’ve never come across any information suggesting it takes anywhere close to 15 days.
When points are refunded, they are always returned to the booking platform used, in this instance Aeroplan.

I found the Hyatt Regency to be perfectly average.

The Sapporo Snow Festival runs from 4th-12th Feb and is an amazing experience.
I’d be booking ASAP as most affordable places are booked out.
Niseko is wonderful but there is a limited range of affordable accommodation, however, there is a plethora of high-end locations if budget isn’t an issue!
Also book your restaurants/rentals/lessons and ski tickets well ahead of time to save money and disappointment on missing out.

I haven’t tried Capital One, but I did have a couple-hour delay after transferring to Aeroplan from Amex recently.
It showed up in the transactions on Aeroplan immediately, but the balance was delayed a couple of hours.

I use it to pay rent.
Super easy.
Love it.
Just have to remember to use the card 5 times in the month to get points for the rent.
I hack that by going to the grocery store once and buying 5 things and paying for each separately.

I paid a bit more but I was married to a specific date.
I booked through Air France.
Good experience.

They used to let you book 4 per room at no extra charge.
Now there is a Special Notice blue banner across the page where you select rooms saying the rate is for 2 guests and to contact the hotel.
On a points stay I have never paid any extra fees or taxes in Mexico or the Dominican Republic.
