• Is 1 hour enough time to make a connecting flight at London Heathrow (LHR)?

I’m looking at a flight from CDG to JFK but the issue is that there’s only an hour layover at LHR from British Airways to AA.

I checked online that this is not enough time as it requires a switch of terminal.

Would you recommend against taking this flight? What happens if I miss the connecting flight?

The LHR-JFK flight is a BA flight. AA can codeshare on it but it is operated by BA and takes off from T5 at LHR.

If everything goes as planned the 1 hour will work but with little wiggle room. if your inbound is late or you get held on the tarmac you are likely to misconnect. BA will then be responsible to put you on the next flight with space (not just the next flight).

Upside is there are 4 other OneWorld flights to JFK after that one on most days.

There are lots of LHR – JFK flights every day. If you can’t make it then they just book you to the next one. No big issue!

If delay on arrival of over 4 hours, you also get some cash! (EU 261)

It looks like they’re both BA-operated flights arriving and departing from LHR T5. 1 hr is the MCT for the same terminal connection at LHR. BA should rebook you if you miss it
