I did a Viator trip that left from Arco del Pace, and brought me through Lugano, Switzerland to Menaggio.
Ferry across Lake Como to Varenna, and then another ferry down to Como, and the bus brings you back to Milan.
Well worth it.
Agree with others though – if you haven’t been to Milan before, there’s plenty to do and transportation there is very easy and inexpensive.
But if you feel the need to explore, a couple quick half day trips that will still get you back downtown for aperitivo.
Go see the racetrack Monza, or the train to Parma is just over an hour and you can sit and eat prosciutto and parmigiano reggiano right in the middle of the piazza

Yes, you are entitled to having your clothes reimbursed.
I recommend submitting the claim to whoever lost your bag (or both airlines just in case).
You have to submit it within a certain amount of time and it is typically like 2-4 weeks after the flight.
Also submit the claim to your credit card because they might pay out faster.

Personally, I’d go with the Venture X.
It is easy to use the $300 credit and once you add the bonus points for keeping the card.
It’s a no-brainer.
The extra 1/2 point per dollar spent will also add up pretty quickly if it’s a card you plan to use, plus you get the referral bonus.

You don’t need the card physically.
It’s just associated with your AA#.
So it may update on AA side by then but YMMV.

No you can’t transfer points to Spirit but if you have Capital One points, you can book via the Capital One Portal or book with your credit card and reimburse yourself at 1:1.

No, the Priority Pass membership is only good for you.
In theory, you can add people as authorized users to your Venture X for free and they get their own membership, but that means they’re authorized to charge against your account.
That is the only workaround.

Yes, you can have a different airline for every AMEX card that has the credits.

There’s one that’s designed to fit on Frontier/Spirit personal items, called Take Off Luggage.
The wheels are removable which turns it into a personal item size.
If you don’t need to squeeze it into a budget airline sizer I assume you can keep the wheels on and it would likely still fit under the seat.

If it’s an international business class (United combines business and first into one class, Polaris) then you have lay-flat seats.
Domestic usually isn’t lay-flat. Check your flight itinerary again and you should be able to find out what your seat is.
The United website also has a section describing the seats.

I recommend using Google Maps and it will tell you all the public transport recommendations.
You can even set it to see future public transit schedules for the date you are traveling.

You generally can’t link multiple cards to, for instance, the Hilton dining network.
If you try, it severs the previous link.
I suspect there are others that you can.
